Panasonic updated its its standard edition of the Toughpad 4K tablet. Now featuring a 5th Generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, as well as HDMI 2.0 input to enhance efficiencies in professional video applications– and priced within reach of a greater range of businesses – the updated Toughpad 4K again sets the standard for productivity in fields such as video editing, architecture, design, photography and healthcare.

First introduced in 2013, the Toughpad 4K is the world’s first 20-inch tablet with a 4K resolution display. It features a brilliant and immersive 230 pixel-per-inch IPS Alpha LCD display with a 15:10 aspect ratio and wide viewing angles that goes beyond Ultra HD resolution, for professionals in fields where visual clarity and collaboration are essential. The new HDMI 2.0 input, alongside other connectivity options such as USB 3.0, Intel Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 (class 1), Ethernet and Mini DisplayPort™ output, allow professionals to connect a greater range of peripherals and tools directly to the tablet for more efficient workflows.

Running Windows and built on the Intel vPro platform, the Toughpad 4K offers unique hardware and OS-based enhanced security features, remote manageability and capabilities designed to increase end user productivity and data protection. With a magnesium alloy frame enclosed in a reinforced glass fiber case, the lightweight, business-rugged tablet is built to handle a 30-inch drop to its back while operating, and 12-inch drops to 26 angles when nonoperational.

Combined with accessories such as the optional Panasonic desktop cradle and carrying case solution, the device can be used as both a desktop PC and tablet. The cradle easily converts into a tilted stand to allow the tablet to be used in drafting table mode, and offers additional connectivity port options. A VESA-compatible mounting adaptor plate is also available.
