The Digital Door Viewer from Cannon Security Products is a new appliance that provides an instant security upgrade over the traditional peepholes found in most doors. With a built-in peephole camera, the Digital Door Viewer allows the user to discreetly identify who is at the door and can be programmed to take photos or video, making it an ideal security system for homeowners, businesses and renters.
The primary security flaw in most peepholes is that the visitor can detect when the resident is looking out at them. With the Digital Door Viewer, users can now discreetly observe who is at the door without giving away their presence. And while traditional peepholes provide only a limited glimpse of the visitor(s) at the door, the Digital Door Viewer offers a panoramic wide-angle view of up to 165 degrees.
The Digital Door Viewer is simple to install and fits on doors that are between 1.37-inches and 4.13-inches thick. It contains a 0.3 megapixel camera with photo and video capability. It also includes a motion detector and can be programmed to take photos or record videos when motion is detected. Photos and videos are automatically placed in folder labeled with the date and time of their capture and are stored on a Micro SD card (up to 32 GB).
The Digital Door Viewer also acts as a doorbell. Visitors at the door can ring the bell by pushing the ringer button beneath the peephole camera. Users, meanwhile, can adjust between seven different ring volumes and multiple ringtones. Settings can also be adjusted so that the LCD turns on immediately as the doorbell is pressed, or even whether a photo or video is captured upon the doorbell being rung.
The LCD display is 2.25-inches wide by 1.625-inches high and can be programmed with the current date and time. Users can choose between five brightness settings and adjust how long the screen stays lit when activated. It also has an infrared LED feature that provides a night vision effect for areas with low light.
The Digital Door Viewer comes in a silver finish and operates on a rechargeable 1500mAh lithium battery. It can be recharged using a supplied charger and an LED low-battery indicator lets users know when it’s time to recharge. The Digital Door Viewer comes with a 90-day warranty and the suggested retail price is $279.99.
