CAD Zone, Inc.'s CZ Point Cloud helps investigators create courtroom-ready 2D/3D diagrams and animations from the “point cloud” of data produced by a 3D laser scanner. Scanners create a completely accurate, digital snapshot of a scene which contains millions of points recorded as X-Y-Z coordinates.
CZ Point Cloud is designed specifically to help crash and crime scene investigators get the measurements they need from a point cloud. The point cloud and the Crash Zone diagram are displayed simultaneously so the investigator can work in either window. The user moves through the 3D environment of the point cloud, placing symbols, drawing lines, arcs, and curves. The diagram is constructed automatically in a second window, according to the exact coordinates of the points selected from the cloud.
As you draw and animate in Crash Zone, the point cloud view is instantly updated. CZ Point Cloud has unique features for using points in the cloud to create completely accurate ditches, hillsides and roadways in a 3D Crash Zone diagram. The special “Keep,” “Hide,” and “Show” tools make it easy for investigators to isolate only those data points in the cloud that are critical to their scene.
CZ Point Cloud is available at an introductory price of $3,500 per copy, which includes a full version of The Crash Zone Version 9. Existing Crash Zone 9 users can add CZ Point Cloud to their software for $2500.
