Emcien Corp. launched EmcienScout, a solution designed specifically for law enforcement and intelligence agencies to analyze and track criminal or terrorist organizations, plan and monitor for major events, analyze behavior within key networks and measure sentiment.
EmcienScout helps investigators and analysts collect, evaluate, collate, analyze and disseminate actionable intelligence. The technology takes crime fighting to an unprecedented level: Through its automatic correlation engine, EmcienScout detects patterns and relationships to identify group influencers, such as drug lords, insurgents or gang leaders.
EmcienScout tracks as well as records open-source intelligence, or OSCINT, and automatically pinpoints correlations, trending terms and related threats within the network of individuals involved.
Although social networking is driving part of the success of EmcienScout, the technology’s purpose is not contingent on the hope that these “persons of interest” tweet or post often. EmcienScout uses the discussions by their followers, as well as connections between the speakers and listeners, to reveal and then rank the people of influence within the network. EmcienScout monitors the networks, searching for key terms, or sentiments that are cause for concern, and can also record for a particular location and a specific period of time.
