Zistos Corporation rolled out a new, very cost-effective system to instantly stream real-time video to a PC, iPhone, iPad — even an iTouch.
The Universal WiFi Link (UWL) is a ruggedly designed, battery-operated wireless network device that transmits video to a mobile device, laptop or PC. The UWL’s design is small enough to be body-worn, but with power and transmission capabilities that make it a highly versatile tool. The device quickly provides remote visual access when a second set of eyes is required.
It is available as a system including a universal mounting bracket and all-weather camera, or as a standalone video transmission device. It is fully compatible with all of the WalkAbout portable video tools such as: WalkAbout displays, thermal and low-light pole cameras, under–door cameras, videoscopes, Recon Scout throw robot and many others. This makes the real-time mission video available and viewable on a computer or other digital device.
The system contains a removable, rechargeable battery that provides power to the system and can be also used to power an external camera or device. An optional adapter kit allows the UWL to attach to a Pelican, visible or IR lighting system for a complete turn-key solution to portable surveillance applications. The system has applications in many areas of security, law enforcement and disaster scene/rescue missions.
