AOR USA, Inc.'s AR2300 “Black Box” wide coverage professional grade receiver now has iPad application software. Using the iPad, with the AT & T 3G network, the operator was able to remotely control an AR2300 receiver located in Tokyo – in real time. Control functions include changing the frequency, bandwidth and receive mode; selecting the sampling rate, a preset VFO memory, attenuator and amplifier; and adjustments to the volume and squelch control. The software demonstrated is a preliminary version and subject to change because AOR expects to custom design software to meet customer needs.
