Linear Systems has partnered with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory to develop an image enhancement algorithm for forensic video.

Linear Systems has partnered with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in developing an image enhancement algorithm for forensic video.  Through the Technology Transfer Program, Linear holds the US Patent for the SRIR (Super-Resolution Image Reconstruction) Algorithm.  This product is currently under development but initial testing has produced outstanding results.  This algorithm is designed to enhance a series of frames of video to construct a “super-resolution” single image to aid in identification. Initial trials of real-time video have produced extremely impressive final images.

Contact the company to see some examples of preliminary testing in a controlled environment, or to submit samples of actual forensic video of crime scenes for testing.

This technology shows great potential for investigation or surveillance programs.  Linear and the U.S. Army are currently developing and enhancing the capabilities of the DIMS SRIR Module based on this, and other, algorithms and technologies.  Linear is also evaluating additional applications of the SRIR Algorithm that could be implemented or integrated with other advanced technologies to provide solutions for varying challenges and opportunities in Law Enforcement, Fire/Arson, Military, and Government.

Please contact Linear Systems for additional information on the DIMS SRIR Module.
