50 GI bullet/cartridge

March 4, 2010

From Guncrafter Industries, the line of CHP (copper hollow point) ammunition and bullets in 50 GI caliber are made from all-copper with a deep cavity and four pre-slitted petals. These bullets open up to a full 1-inch diameter upon impact, devastating performance.
This factory ammunition is available as a 185 grain CHP at 1,200 fps and a 230 grain CHP at 1,000 fps, these 50 GI loads packs roughly 600 and 500 foot pounds of energy, respectively. Due to the large caliber and low working pressure of the 50 GI cartridge the recoil is amazingly mild, comparable to a .45 ACP +P, and a lot less than a 10 mm.
Guncrafters also offer the bullets for sale for those who prefer to load their own ammunition. Each bullet is individually turned on a high precision CNC lathe, resulting in dimensional consistency.
