Kershaw's military-style fixed-blade knife, the Whiplash, has a built-in parachute-cord lanyard: Users pull the tab at the butt of the knife to release the elasticized lanyard, wrap it around the wrist, and are good to go. For an even more secure grip, the Whiplash features extra-large thumb notches on top of the blade, as well as an oversized index-finger notch below. For hardness and strength, the full-tang blade is 8CR13MOV stainless steel with matte-black, titanium carbo-nitride PVD coating. The handle scales are injection-molded, glass-filled nylon for a comfortable, secure grip. The Whiplash comes with its own durable sheath. The Whiplash has a 4.5-inch blade and total length of 9 inches and weighs 6.4 ounces.
