Smith & Wesson expands its Military & Police (M&P) Series with the M&P9L. Chambered in the versatile 9mm ammunition, the M&P9L features a 5-inch barrel for increased velocity and accuracy. Manufactured with an emphasis on enhanced durability, the M&P9L has a black polymer frame reinforced with a ridged steel chassis and a thru-hardened black Melonite stainless steel barrel and slide. This combination of features provides unparalleled shootability and dramatically reduces felt recoil. The full-size pistol features a passive trigger safety to prevent the pistol from firing if dropped along with a sear release lever that eliminates the need to press the trigger to disassemble the firearm. The firearm also features a loaded chamber indicator located on top of the slide, an ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine release, and a Picatinny-style equipment rail for additional accessories. The M&P9L has a capacity of 17+1 and an empty weight of 25.2 ounces. The striker fired action (SFA) trigger system features a 6 1/2-pound trigger pull and has been designed with an overtravel stop for enhanced performance. Other notable features include an 18-degree grip angle for natural pointability, an advanced ergonomic design and three interchangeable palmswell grips sizes.
