QuikClot Combat Gauze

QuikClot Combat Gauze by Z-Medica was designed for all military services as the first-line hemostatic treatment for life-threatening hemorrhage that is not amenable to tourniquet placement. It has been tested by both the Naval Medical Research Center and the U.S. Army Institute for Surgical Research. The gauze shapes itself to wounds and reaches bleeding vessels in penetrating wounds. It is also easily removed. The product combines surgical gauze with a proprietary inorganic material that stops arterial and venous bleeding promptly. It is inert and non-allergenic, and comes in rolls four yards long by three inches wide.
