SmartShield is an RFID enabled badge security system for public safety departments and agencies. V.H. Blankinton embeds a traditional Blackinton badge with a secure pre-programmed RFID microchip that stores identification coding which validates the badge – and the badge wearer. SmartShield is being used for Badge Issuance and Inventory Control.  When a SmartShield badge is scanned by an RFID reader information is instantly sent to the reader and the departments database, so you can see who a badge is issued to, check its history, reassign it to inventory, or decommission the badge.
