Collarset III

Aug. 20, 2007

Collarset III lets officers receive and transmit portable radio signals without being observed by people in the surrounding area. Available from Television Equipment Associates, it provides hands-free radio communications. One cable runs under the officer's shirt to a flat microphone/earphone unit positioned over the breast bone. A fingertip press-to-talk button is located on the duty belt, hand or pocket to facilitate discrete radio transmission. A secret service-type coiled tube transmits the receive signal to a comfortable skeleton earmold, which does not obstruct peripheral hearing. For cover applications, the tube can be located up the back of the officer's neck.
