Marking an important step in making wide-scale data sharing a reality for law enforcement, Spillman Technologies announces the release of InSight, a real-time data sharing solution that addresses the core challenges that have prevented agencies from sharing information with neighboring city, county and state law enforcement. With InSight, each user queries neighboring databases through a message switch, or broker, that relays simultaneous requests for information among participating agencies. Since the application is backed by 192-bit encryption, security is not an issue. InSight also solves the challenge of accessing information from different software applications, by using the Global Justice XML Data Model established through the Department of Justice. As a result, officers at one agency can view information located on another agency's database regardless of the brand of software or database in use.
