PrintQuest

SPEX FORENSICS offers its FBI IAFIS interface system. The PrintQuest -IAFIS allows direct upload of latent prints from a local police department to the FBI database via an FBI provided, encrypted modem. The FBI encourages broader use of IAFIS, however local police departments do require approval from their State. The System includes a PC with 19 inch LCD monitor, AFIS-APIS software, FBI certified scanner, inkjet printer and UPS. PrintQuest integrates in one software package what currently requires 3-4 different packages: The System can perform local searches. Then if desired, take the latent print, convert to LFIS format, upload to FBI, and receive back a candidate list and download the hit tenprint.
