The shorted length of trigger reset after firing ensures quick double-tap capabilities. Based on the Model SW99, the 990L features interchangeable backstraps to accommodate various hand sizes, Melonite finish barrel and slide for low maintenance and durability, loaded chamber indicator, ambidextrous magazine release, interchangeable front sight post and windage adjustable rear sight for pin-point sighting-in, and equipment rail for mounting lights and lasers. The full size 990L is available in 9mm, .40 S'W and .45 ACP, compact model in 9mm and .40 S'W.
