Securing Law Enforcement Computer systems, v. 1.0

Aug. 20, 2007
It is important for state and local law enforcement to have multiple layers of security in place to protect their information. This Securing Law Enforcement Computer Systems (SLECS), v. 1.0, CD from the National White Collar Crime Center uses five stories based on actual events to demonstrate the dangers of not protecting information systems. An extensive resources section includes low-cost and no-cost security solutions that can be implemented immediately, sample policies and procedures to model, useful Internet links, and best practices that can help prevent similar incidents from occurring. The SLECS CD addresses high technology problems in non-technical language and is free to all law enforcement personnel.
