The SafestShot system is designed to permit the operator to employ their weapon as a standard M16/M4 (or AR-15) in conventional mode, yet allow a quick transition to an observation/engagement tool in seconds. In less than 5 seconds SafestShot will allow both viewing of the threat and firing of the weapon from a position that provides nearly total cover. By engaging the forend and shoulder stock and attaching the sighting device, observation and aimed fire if required, can be accomplished from a position protected from incoming fire. This device may also be employed over/under vehicles, or other objects of suitable cover.
