Patient Shield

Ferno now offers the Patient Shield, a cot accessory designed to minimize the transfer of pathogens between patients and patient handlers, equipment and the environment. The Patient Shield fits easily over most Ferno ambulance cots and hospital stretchers with 29 to 30-inch head width; and is specifically designed as an accessory for the Ferno 35-P PROFlexx and 35-A transporters, as well as the Ferno 93-P PROFlexx and 93ES Squadmate cots. The shield is constructed of clear acrylic, linked by three fabric ribs for easy folding when not in use. The shield is designed to be disposable, but may be reused after disinfecting with an approved cleaning agent. Use of the shield requires delivery of supplemental oxygen to the patient, via a non-rebreather face mask.
