    A tactical alternative to the traditional handguards and aluminum free float tubes, carbon fiber free float tubes from DPMS stay cooler than the standard aluminum free float tubes and weigh less, 40 percent less, providing shooters with a unique alternative to the traditional handguard. Two lengths are available. The standard length tubes measures 12 5/8 inches and weigh 0.55 pounds, while the carbine length tubes measure 7 1/4 inches and weigh 0.35 pounds. All tubes have a 2-inch diameter, a wall thickness of roughly .09 inches and include the hard anodized barrel nut.
