Centurion Systems, Inc., a division of Yukon Optics Worldwide, presents the Border Patrol, a unique panoramic eyepiece; made of pliable synthetic rubber material, the eyepiece is constructed to cushion the officer's face as they are looking through the panoramic lens. This allows for the device to be used for extended durations with exceptional comfort while preventing eye fatigue. The panoramic lens and widened viewing field gives law enforcement an increased observation area and the ability to see farther and over longer distances than conventional night vision viewers. An internal focusing objective lens makes image adjustment easy. The unit as a whole is protected against excess light exposure by a securely fitting lens cap, sturdy panoramic eyepiece and durable, black body. Controlling image intensity is quick and easy with the manual image brightness control, which is counterbalanced by the automatic brightness control, and a built-in adjustable IR illuminator that increases viewing range even further. Detection range of a 6 foot tall individual using the light of a quarter moon without the IR activated is approximately 450 yards, while recognition range, under the same circumstances, is an incredible 330 yards. The Border Patrol will also function under cloud cover or when minimal ambient light is available, and still puts detection and recognition range at an impressive 240 and 195 yards, respectively.
