Camera-Eyepiece DC4

Aug. 20, 2007
The Camera-Eyepiece DC4 combines the optical capabilities of the Diascope spotting scopes with a camera system, creating digital photography through a spotting scope. Carl Zeiss Optical, Inc. marks a turning point in digiscoping eliminating the delay in photographing the image. The camera's image format is visible when looking through the eyepiece so the camera can trigger without having to look at the integrated 2-inch display. The DC4's wireless remote control allows images to be made vibration-free from the tripod. The Zeiss DC4 offers 30x magnification and a field of view of 120 ft. at 1,000 yds. when observing with the Zeiss Diascope 65 FL and 40x magnification and a 90 ft. field of view at 1,000 yds. with the 85 FL. Using special software the system automatically corrects contrast, sharpness, exposure and color accuracy - even before the image data is stored on the memory card. This means the Zeiss Camera-Eyepiece DC4 delivers image data that can be printed in top photographic quality with minimal further digital processing.
