Made of S30V steel, this skeletal knife is 6 and 3/4-inches overall, with a 3 and 1/8-inch drop-point blade. Four lightening holes keep the weight to 1.9 ounces and lanyard-sized so the one at the butt can be attached to a parachute cord. The 1/8-inch thick blade has been heat-treated by Paul Bos to a Rockwell hardness of Rc60. The Model 151 comes with a dual-position molded nylon sheath holding the knife in place and has a lanyard hole, complete with a 30-imch stainless steel chain. Its quick availability makes the Kaala ideally suited to tactical applications. Adding to the effectiveness of the blade is Buck Knives' advanced Edge2xTM technology that makes the blade sharper out of the box, hold an edge longer and easier to re-sharpen.
