With the growing popularity of slim frame-lock folders, Buck Knives has broadened their selection with introduction of the new Parallex Series - Models 316 and 318. The one-hand open/close Parallex is compact and offers a choice of two sizes. They both provide an interesting blend of contemporary styling and rugged durability. The curved, contoured slope of their stainless steel handle sits comfortably in your hand. Geometrically shaped "windows" (lightening holes) in the handle add to the styling and, more importantly, they reduce the overall weight. The one at the butt-end of the handle serves as a lanyard hole. Blades are made of 420HC stainless steel, heat-treated to Rc 58 for hardness and corrosion-resistance. Model 316 has a 2-1/4" non-serrated drop-point blade, locks open to 5-1/2" and is 3-3/8" closed. It weighs just 2 oz. Handles come in a choice of electroplated Midnight Blue or Gun Metal Grey, and have a handy pocket/belt clip. Model 318 has a 2-3/4" partially serrated drop-point blade, locks open to 6-3/4" and is 4-1/8" closed. It weighs 3.7 oz. Handles come in a choice of electroplated Midnight Blue or Gun Metal Grey. A third choice is a high gloss black titanium coating on the handle and blade. All have a handy pocket/belt clip. As with all Buck knives, the Parallex blades are finished with Buck's advanced Edge2x™ technology, which makes them sharper out of the box, hold an edge longer and easier to re-sharpen.
