Barrett Optical Ranging System (BORS)

For use as a long-range sight on the M107 and XM109 weapons systems, Barrett Firearms Manufacturing offers the Barrett Optical Ranging System (BORS) that increases the probability of a first-round hit at ranges greater than 500 meters by a factor of three. BORS has memory storage for more than 2,000 ballistic tables, allowing the shooter to merely set the distance with the elevation knob. BORS instantly displays the computer range setting on its LCD. On-board sensors provide data for the instantaneous compensation for air temperature, altitude and muzzle depression or elevation. A USB interface is available for uploading new ballistic data as required.
