Axis Communications' AXIS 241 video server family is the first in the company's series of new-generation network video products. The product family includes the AXIS 241S, a single-channel video server, and the AXIS 241Q, a four-channel video server, which are designed to convert analog CCTV systems to Internet Protocol (IP)-based systems. The AXIS 241S and 241Q are built around Axis' ARTPEC-2 video compression chip and include new functionalities such as event management based on triggered or scheduled events, built-in motion detection and full frame rates (30 frames per second) simultaneously across all video channels. Both video servers are based on Motion JPEG compression and provide 10 different resolutions, up to 768 x 576 pixels. The new video server family includes a built-in, advanced security package with support for the HTTPs protocol and IP address filtering, which allows only authorized IP addresses to access video. The video servers also include multi-level password protection and support for configuration backup.
