With the need for a physical computer-to-sign connection eliminated, users can now communicate with equipment wirelessly from the safety of their vehicles.Radar speed signs and variable message signs can now be programmed via an affordable PDA versus a costly laptop computer. Users can fine-tune radar sensitivity by driving toward signs, viewing the displayed message and modifying the sensitivity until the desired effect is achieved.File sizes are kept to a minimum, so useful data can be downloaded to a PDA rapidly and routinely. The data can then be transferred to a PC using ATS client-based software.
