Tactical Dress Uniform TDU

Aug. 20, 2007
The Tactical Dress Uniform (TDU) has been designed to replace the old style Battle Dress Uniforms (BDU) of the past. Available in different fabrics and colors, the TDU is an improvement over the BDU. 5.11 Tactical Series product developers used several teams of police and corrections officers to provide input into the design of the new TDU. Wear testing by street cops, tactical training units and overseas operators resulted in a number of unique features and officers commented that they would prefer to wear the TDU. The shirt features hidden document pockets on the front chest, triple stitching and 28 bartacks for strength. The pant features removable neoprene knee pads, removable twill blousing straps, and a YKK zipper instead of a button fly to create the 5.11 fit.
