VIEVU Streamlines Body Worn Video Evidence Collection for Public Safety with SceneDoc Partnership

Dec. 17, 2014
Wireless workflow-driven solution makes it simple to upload and document crime, accident and other incident-related content.

Seattle, WA December 16, 2014 -- VIEVU, an industry leader in body worn video (BWV) today announced a partnership with SceneDoc that streamlines documenting crime/accident scenes and makes it simple to upload encrypted video evidence pulled from the VIEVU² body worn video camera. VIEVU² footage can be uploaded directly into the SceneDoc mobile platform, which also allows users to complete electronic paperwork, create scene drawings, add video/audio files and take text or voice-recorded notes through their smartphone or tablet. The data then streams to a server for storage, retrieval, collaboration with colleagues, and can be turned into a secure field-based report to share with investigators, incident commanders and prosecutors.

"A major pain point in public safety is the need for an end-to-end investigative solution for crime or incident scenes. By combining VIEVU² cameras and the SceneDoc software we are providing a streamlined solution for the collection, storage, retrieval and reporting of physical and digital evidence, all in a single secure environment,” said SceneDoc CEO and co-founder Alex Kottoor.
While the VIEVU² was designed for professionals to protect from erroneous accountability/liability, efficiently and accurately documents claims, this new partnership also makes it ideal for law enforcement looking for a streamlined evidence collection system.

Milled from a solid block of aluminum, VIEVU² withstands the bumps/bruises of daily use and can be worn on a belt, lapel, pocket, or other places bulkier cameras simply don’t fit. The camera records in three configurable settings up to full 1080p HD resolution and features a proven "one switch" design for quick activation even while wearing gloves. Footage can also be streamed to a smartphone using the VIEVU² mobile app.

“As the demand for body worn cameras continues, we at VIEVU understand the importance of security, ease of use and efficiency. As a “Made by Cops for Cops” company, we continue to design and develop the best way for our customers to document their daily activities. Our recent partnership with SceneDoc increases our goal in providing evidence security with mobility in critical environments” said VIEVU’s President Steve Lovell.
