The Sheriff is on-duty 24/7. Our Sheriff wears his uniform whenever he is in public, no matter the reason.

Do the feds really have nothing better to do? Also, anyone who thinks that funding from the federal government doesn't have strings should read this article.

Your upset because he used someones proper middle name. So what, if Obama is such a stand up guy, they why is he so afraid of his middle name, it should not matter. And I gurantee you he is not the only Sheriff or law enforcement official who wears his uniform to gatherings political or not. You people obviously have no clue. Another stupid cop, where do you get off, im guessing you are not a Kevin so stick to websites non police related. And Sarah sounds like you are the unAmerican, Mcain fought for this Country to call him a traitor is uncalled for, you are the traitor for disrespecting a veteran of this country that fought for your freedom.

McCain
m in nowhere. I am a veteran myself and my husband is also a veteran. He, too, served in Vietnam, as did my brother, and brother-in-law, in fact each overlapped the other. Sarah Palin and Todd Palin are traitors and by wanting to secede from the USA, they are also treasonous. The fact that McCain chose her as his veep makes him a traitor as well. Sorry, but I am sure I am not alone on my views. By the way, we all served our country HONORABLY.

Not in Uniform
Any truly professional officer, whether in law enforcement or the military, should know better than to engage in partisan political activities while in uniform. Sheriff Scott did not just introduce Governor Palin. He stood up in front of the citizens he is sworn to protect, while wearing a law enforcement uniform, and urged those citizens to vote against Obama. Had I pulled a stunt like that during my military career I would have been inviting a court martial or non-judicial punishment. In either case, my career would have been over. Never mind the middle name distraction. This sheriff disgraced his uniform.

NinaK
NinaK, how can anyone be more liberal than Ted Kennedy? That was my question when I found out that Barack Hussein Obama is ranked as the most liberal senator. Not surprisingly, no one has been able or willing to answer my one question. One thing I know for certain about America is that "common sense" has now become extinct.

Sheriff Mike Scott
I am very glad that Officer Scott is being investigated. The public needs to feel secure about being treated fairly and having an officer in uniform taking sides (especially in such a high profile campaign and at a time when candidates seem to feel free to incite possible violence i.e. Ayres issue,) the sight of Officer Scott was really scary and inappropriate. (It actually crossed my mind when I saw this officer speaking, that maybe all of the conspiracy stories about our country turning into a police state, were true. It is a big relief to know that the OSC? FBI? is investigating this man. ) I hope the law penalizes this behavior and makes an example to any political party that the use of a police officer in uniform cannot be used for political approval/gains in political campaigns. I would much rather see officers in uniforms at campaign rallies keeping the peace, so that we, the public, know that when people in the crowds are shouting things like, "Kill Him," and "Traitor,"
that law enforcement is there for our protection--that is when you want to see a uniform in the crowd!

Sheriff Scott
I can only think of one other sheriff to wear his uniform 24/7 and that was Barney Fife. To compare this arrogant windbag with Deputy Fife is an insult to the Mayberry Sheriff's Office
