McMINNVILLE, Ore. --

A McMinnville woman received her first ride in a police car Friday after 105 years of being on the right side of the law.

Flavia Sherwood celebrated her 105th birthday with a ride around Yamhill County.

As a birthday surprise, Major Craig Durbin of the Oregon State Police gave Sherwood a ride in his car and even turned on the lights and sirens.

Sherwood has taken part in something special or her birthday every year since turning 100 years old. She celebrated last year by riding in a race car at Portland International Raceway and reaching speeds of 130 mph.

She said she has already started planning on how to ring in her 106th birthday.
