St. Clair Shores police said they have a man in custody who has eight outstanding warrants, 14 prior convictions and 70 current suspensions.
Police said 53-year-old Wesley Blount record hasn't kept him from driving. That is, until he was pulled over recently at 9 Mile Road and Interstate 94 in St. Clair Shores for ignoring a stop sign.
"I started looking through the file at this Secretary of State print out and was like, 'Holy Cow!'" said St. Clair Shores police officer Ron Simon.
Simon has been an officer for 38 years, and said he's never seen a driving record like Blount's.
"Apparently he doesn't care if he has a license or not, he's going to drive," Simon said. "When I talked to his he says, 'Well I needed to drive because that was my job.'"
According to records, Blount had his driver's license revoked April 18, 1987. Since then, the Detroiter has been ticketed in Farmington Hills, Farmington, Southfield, Bloomfield Hills, Hamtramck, Oak Park, Livonia, Detroit and Eastpointe.
The violations, all traffic related, range from improper lane usage to speeding and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
"It's obvious he's a danger to the public," Simon said.
Blount has pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license and has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
