Arizona Sheriff Balks at Feds' Enforcement Change

Good for Joe..If only all sheriff's were like him. I am tired of hearing people complain about the imigration problem, then complain when somthing is done about it. JOE FOR PRESIDENT!!!

If they are illegal why do they have civil rights in the USA?

if only our county sheriff was more like joe then maybe our county would not be 45 illegal mexicans and a white person could get a job here but no sheriff chitwood tells his officers that we can expect then to follow our laws because they don't have the same ones in mexico so it is ok for then to break any law they want as long as he is in office so thank you joe maybe a few of them won't make it here because of you keep up the good work

Am I the only one whose family is predominantly legal immigrants who is offended by scofflaws and felons who get in here without have to jump through ANY of the hoops all my family did to get here? Seriously no background check? Nothing? I sacrificed to bring my family and loved ones here do you know why? Because they are asians and Europeans and weren't lucky enough to live along an unguarded border. My family has been discriminated against and paid huge fees because they weren't lucky enough to live near an unguarded border.

LEGAL immigrants are statistically less likely to commit crimes and more likely to go to college and have start businesses. Legal immigrants are treated as third class citizens behind the illegals.

Feds should be doing their job so Americans don't look to people like Joe to take all possible measures to keep out illegals.. and the implication here is that they actually picked up MORE legals than illegals in their sweep.. i am as outraged about illegals as the next person, but this seems like it's not effective even 50% of the time.. we need more activity from the feds on immigration and stricker standards for immigration in my opinion.. i work in an area where there aren't very many citizens who don't speak any english, but when i do hear for a dispatcher calling for any spanish speaking officer, it makes me sick.. in parts of the US there are TONS of people who don't speak english! it's absurd!

I am reminded of a speech by Teddy Roosevelt and in it says:
"We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

If you want to be an American... then be a real American!

Notice what liberals do when they are confronted with law enforcement officers who actually want to uphold the law.... they label them "rogue". First Sergeant Crowley, now Sheriff Arpaio!

Sherrif Joe represents a lot of what law enforcement should be. He upholds the law, he doesn't interpret it. If 74 people got arressted and 25 were illeagal, how many were sheltering the illegals in their home? Isn't accessory to a crime still a crime? Homeland Security is not doing it's job, and neither is Immagration, by asking for LE to not do their jobs. Juries will decide if the accused are guilty or innocent.

Whatever Joe may have been accused of, appaently it hasn't been enough for him to lose his job or be voted out of his job. Maybe, therefore, his is innoccent.

I wish we had moe Sherrifs that were not afraid to do their jobs. If we did, we wouldn't have as many lawbreakers.
