This officer screwed himself, with some help from his son, especially if he lied in his report and on the stand. That gets you fired with my agency, period. I watched a more complete video on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3wJE8wxTsk ). It actually does not look AS BAD as they are making it out to be. His tactics were VERY POOR, as well, especially if he is going to claim he received info one subject was armed with a gun. It's obvious that he went on this one man mission (no backup / no radio?) because he was angry/irritated by whatever story his son gave out. Wanting the tape destroyed may be the nail in the coffin.

only considering disciplinary actions against the officer??? What would the action have been, had a private citizen did exactly what he did?? This is the kind of officer that gives all LEO's a bad rep. Hopefully he never wears a uniform or carries a badge again.

Wow! Thanks Lopez for making the rest of us look like a bunch of idiots. This is why you let some one else handle the T/C report, so there is no claim of bias.

SJANC... Wow, where did all the hate come from?

I've been on the job for 15 yrs, and of course I've lost my temper, been pissed off, etc., We are only human. But my wanting to keep my (and cops') good reputation, sense of right and wrong, and ethics, keep me on track during these tough times.

I think Lopez should be fired. He obviously abuses his power, has bad judgment, has no ethics, and has a bad temper. In light of this one video over a minor accident, there is no telling how many times he has acted like this.

But there are bad apples in every profession...
-Do you call doctors names and hate them because a
small percentage a abuse their power to issue scripts or
when they take advantage of a patient?
-Do you hate all fast fod people because a small
percentage have tampered with food before?
-Or how about the gas station owners because a few of
them steal from us by falsifying the pumps?

Probably not.

It is very possible that you have been abused and/or your rights may have been violated by an officer, but if it happened to you only once, i doubt it could poison your view so much.

If that has happened to you, I truly apologize on behalf of our profession.

If actually happened to you more than once, then you must be very unlucky, and again I apologize.

If this is truly the case... what a weak person you must be to let it change your outlook so much. Maybe you should seek counseling for these abuses, and try to be a better person.

But the more likely scenario is that you are simply one of the worthless, degenerate, pieces of garbage that do nothing but violate the law, victimize people, and then get caught because you are too stupid to get away with it.

THEN you start screaming about crooked 'pigs' who claim we lied and framed your poor, innocent self, cuz you obviously have done nothing wrong.

In the meantime, you have probably continuously disappointed and neglected your family & society, have nothing to contribute to either one, and your parents continually scratch their heads and wonder where they went wrong, and probably wish you were never born.

So go cry some more about how society keeps you down, how the us 'pigs' abuse you, and make every other excuse you can think of and find more people to blame, to justify why you are probably a huge piece of crap.

Even though you obviously hate us... even though you are an ungrateful turd... even though you may not even deserve to live in our society... WE still lay our lives down for people like you. WHAT have YOU ever done for society, except compain and criticize.

Because while your hiding in your closet crying like a baby and calling 911 because you heard a noice in the middle of the night, me and the vast majority of my brothers and sisters will still respond and put ourselves in harm's way, just to make you feel better.

Well Sjanc is an idiot, but not nearly as big an idiot as the douche in this story. Firing him is not nearly good enough, aggravated assault and false police report charges should be filed at a minimum, and federal civil rights charges as well. Guys like this are the reason decent cops fade the heat that they do. I also question the sanity of any officer who would help this ass in any way. You pull some crap like this and you are on your own in my book, and while I may get flamed for saying this I would happily testify against an officer who pulled *censored* like this around me.
