Facebook, MySpace and a host of other "social" Internet sites are old news, and so is the ability to use them for investigation purposes. I've used MySpace to solve arsons and gang-related crimes several years ago. More and more similar sites are popping up on the Internet as time goes on. Google is an old trustworthy tool for investigators and will usually turn up good info. However, these Internet sites are a double-edged sword ... they are a valuable tool for police, but they also pose a credible threat to society as a means of criminal transit and moral turpitude.
