Really? Why is this news? Is this the first time anyone has ever stopped a vehicle listed in NCIC as stolen that was being driven by the registered owner?

... in other news Ohio police locate man with a brown bottle possibly containing an alcoholic beverage in a public place ...

Well, it's Detroit, a large, busy city. I can't tell you how many times I had someone in custody (especially on Detroit warrants) that had already been arrested and the warrant had not been removed from LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network).
