HOUSTON --

A Houston police officer was relieved of duty, accused of using his badge to sexually harass women, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.

Huy Chi Tran, 32, is charged with oppression and harassment.

At least six women claim that after Tran pulled them over for traffic stops, they received several calls from him asking them out on dates, investigators said.

In exchange, Tran would offer to dismiss their tickets, according to the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors are looking for more possible victims. Call 713-755-8330 with any information.

Tran was sworn in as an HPD officer in December 2001.

Worst PR in the history of PR
As a Former Harris County (Houston, TX) Sheriff's Deputy, all I can say is this... the Houston Police Department has to have to worst PR Department EVER!!!!
In a county of nearly 5 million residents (more than 119 Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies), HPD is constantly giving the city and all their fantastic LEO's a series of black eyes...
This is simply the latest foul-up to hit the headlines.
As I have always said, HPD doesn't make the headlines unless it's something BAD... and, they are always in the headlines.
Search it out... arresting 300+ in parking lots; "accidental discharges" striking a 16 yr old in the head; again, with a 15 yr old in the head the following week; and on and on...
It must be contagious, too. My former HCSO isn't doing too well these days either.
When something shamefull like this happens, it reflects across anyone wearing a badge. When that is reflected on myself, I tend to take it personally. What ever happened to personal Pride? Integrity? Honor? These were core to the teaching in the Academy, were they not?

More than five years ago, I left the HCSO for DHS/USBP. Our worst enemy, is our lack of reporting to the communities we serve on the content of our arrests/ apprehensions. People see us as arresting "these poor people who are simply coming here to make money and support their families", and do not see the reality of the drug/ contraband smuggling; mulitples of traffic offenses/ DWIs; violent crimes; sexual deviants; fraud document abusers, and repeat offenders across numerous state boundaries that we encounter. Honest, hrad-working people.. right.

Het Brd, hold your head up and don't feel like that because of this dirt bag. All you have to do is do your job the best you can with the least amount of assistance. As far as the USBP, those guys deserve a huge raise and bigger guns and a shovel to bury the scum that squirms accross that border. Last I looked the US Constitution only served the US. These immigrant fencehoppers don't deserve the protection of the laws of our great land. The minute they hop it they are criminals so, as I always say, the laws are for the criminals. Look how they protect the criminals on Capital Hill. There's a flaw in the system when the regulation regarding income for a US Rep can be written by the Reps themselves, and we get the bones. Peace and be safe.

This is Bs, he's innocent. As a child, in grade school he always wanted to be a police officer because he wants to help others. He's a good guy. If your stupid people read and believe everything you see or read you're stupid too. This crazy I hope these girls that are making these claim goes to hell, for letting him to go through this *censored* and for my family to have to go through this. He should be working and helping others right now instead of this.
