The Bath Township Police Department posted to its Facebook account a photo of a patrol car with "POPO" appearing in the place of "POLICE" on the side of the vehicle.

A Michigan police department had a little bit of fun on Facebook and had people talking over the weekend after they gave one of their police cruisers a virtual makeover.

The Bath Township Police Department posted to its Facebook account a photo of a patrol car with "POPO" appearing in the place of "POLICE" on the side of the vehicle.

Since the post --which the department told its followers was a change in design was to "Reach the younger folk out there" -- went up, more than 2,500 people have shared it.

The reactions in the comments range from some finding the post funny to others – unaware that the photo was a spoof – complaining about the misuse of resources.

Responding to the negative comments, the the department assured that the vehicle's new design was created solely in MS Paint.
