Ohio Police Officer Dies On Duty

Madison Village Police Officer Michael A. Huffman died Thursday morning during his patrol shift.

MADISON VILLAGE, Ohio -- A 52-year-old Madison Village police officer died Thursday morning during his patrol shift, the department said in a Facebook post.

Michael A. Huffman died of “apparent natural causes” during his shift, Chief Troy McIntosh said.

Huffman joined the department in 1999 and “proudly served his community for over 19 years,” McIntosh said.

“He was a dedicated officer and will be greatly missed by the men and women of this department,” McIntosh said. “Our condolences and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”

Police did not release any further information.
