Kentucky Trooper Wounded in Fatal Shooting

One person died and a state trooper was wounded following a shooting late Sunday in Bath County.

BATH COUNTY, Kentucky -- One person died and a state trooper was wounded following a shooting late Sunday in Bath County, according to media reports.

Police are not releasing details on the shooting, according to a WKYT, which reported that the injured trooper received lacerations to his head and arm. WKYT is the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner.

The shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Sharpsburg, and the trooper was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. His condition wasn’t available, according to media reports.

Police have not said if the dead person, whose identity wasn’t released, was shot and killed by police, LEX 18 reported.
