Two Kentucky Deputies Shot; Gunman Dead

Two Knox County, Kentucky Sheriff's deputies were shot and wounded while serving a warrant Monday morning.

The deputies were attempting to serve an indictment warrant at a residence in the Trosper community around 11:40 a.m. when the suspect opened fire on them, according to The News Journal.

Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Trooper Shane Jaccobs said that both deputies were initially transported by ambulance to the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Barbourville and one of the deputies has since been flower to a larger medical facility.

The gunman was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire.

Neither the names of the deputies, nor the shooter are being released at this time.

Kentucky State Police are currently investigating the incident.
