Officials on Tuesday released body camera video showing the moments after a police officer shot and killed Terrence Sterling earlier this month.

D.C. Metropolitan Police officials on Tuesday released body camera video showing the moments after an officer shot and killed a motorcyclist earlier this month.

Police said after the fatal shooting of Terrence Sterling on Sept. 11 around 4:20 a.m. at 3rd and M streets NW that Officer Brian Trainer opened fire after the man intentionally rammed a police cruiser with his bike, according to WRC-TV.

The nearly 6-minute video shows Sterling bleeding on the ground as an officer takes off his jacket, shirt and helmet and performs CPR on him.

"Come on, man, keep breathing," an officer is heard shouting in the video. "Look at me. Keep looking at me."

The sound of ambulances can be heard approaching the scene as the video ends.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser authorized the release of the video, and said in a statement that it's "In the public interest and consistent with the goals of the District’s (body-worn camera) program to create broader accountability between law enforcement and communities, and to maintain open and transparent government."

Trainer was not seriously injured in the incident, but was was placed on administrative leave, per department policy.

In the days following the shooting, officials revealed that Trainer did not turn on his body camera until after he fired his weapon.

Bowser said that 911 dispatchers now will remind police officers to turn on their body cameras before they arrive at scenes.
