A newly released body camera video shows a Lyman, South Carolina police officer being dragged by a shoplifting suspect last week.

The officer opened a car door to detain the suspect, identified as Kristina Marcy, who shoplifted from the Dollar General on Charlotte Highway on July 29, according to WSPA-TV.

Officials said that the woman reversed and hit the officer with the door of the vehicle and went forward, throwing the officer to the ground. Marcy then led Spartanburg County deputies on a chase into Cherokee County before she crashed and was arrested and treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

The Lyman police officer suffered minor injuries including bumps, scrapes and bruises.
