Pennsylvania Officer Critical, Suspect Sought

A Folcroft Borough police officer was shot in the neck, face and shoulder during a drug investigation Friday morning.

A Pennsylvania police officer was critically wounded after he was shot three times during a drug investigation Friday morning.

The Folcroft Borough police officer was shot in the neck, face and shoulder around 9:45 a.m. along Elmwood Avenue near Garfield Avenue, according to WCAU-TV.

The 25-year-old officer was transported to nearby Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital before he was flown to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in West Philadelphia in critical condition.

Police from various agencies in Delaware County were searching train tracks used by SEPTA and Amtrak near the scene of the shooting for the suspect, who remains on the loose.

A SWAT team was also called in to assist in the search near an apartment complex and residents were told to stay in their homes.
