Video: Driver Pulls Rifle on Michigan Officer

Dashboard camera video has been released of a driver pointing a rifle at a Livonia police officer before being shot.

Dashboard camera video has been released of a driver pointing a rifle at a Michigan police officer before being shot.

Livonia police officers pulled over the driver, identified as Joseph Carlton, at Farmington Road and Lyndon around 2 a.m. on April 10, according to WJBK-TV.

"How you doing ... Put that thing away!," the startled officer says as the driver points the gun at him.

The officer, along with another, opened fire on the man, wounding him several times.

The officers were not injured and the Carlton was shot two times and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

He was charged with felonious assault, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, assaulting-resisting a police officer and driving while intoxicated.

Carlton is being held on a million dollar bond.

The incident is currently under investigation.
