Boston Officer Wounded; Suspect Arrested

A Boston police officer was shot in the leg Friday morning and the suspected gunman was taken into custody.

A Boston police officer was wounded Friday morning and the suspected gunman was taken into custody.

Officials said that the shooting occurred around 10:15 a.m. at 1 Mount Bowdoin Terrace near Eldon Street in the city's Dorchester neighborhood, according to WCVB-TV.

The unidentified male officer was shot in the leg and is expected to recover. He was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

The news station reported that the officer was observed at the scene conscious and talking after the shooting.

The suspect gunman was taken into custody.

The shooting is currently under investigation.
