Dashcam Video Shows Florida Shootout

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office in Florida released dashboard camera video on Friday that shows a shootout between a suspect and a deputy last month.

Deputy Joshua Gordon was saved by his bulletproof vest after he was shot in the chest while attempting to apprehend 25-year-old Timothy Thomas on Oct. 24 following a pursuit on Stock Island, according to WTVJ.

Authorities were searching for Thomas in connection with a robbery. Thomas fled and was captured a day later after he was discovered hiding in a Key West house.

Officials said he suffered two gunshot wounds and was hospitalized and later released and is currently being held without bond.
