A Massachusetts State Police trooper surprised a little girl Sunday night after her family was involved in a collision on a highway.
A family found themselves involved in a high-speed collision after a dark colored vehicle without its lights on came to a stop in front of them after bouncing off of a guard rail on Route 6 in Barnstable around 8:20 p.m., according to The Hyannis News.
The father tightly held his daughter in his arms, kissing her as mom looked on. Suddenly, a trooper who noticed the little girl surprised her with a Teddy Bear.
The gesture of kindness instantly brought a smile to the faces of the little girl and both of her parents.
The mother, who was still in shock after the crash, told the newspaper that they were lucky none of them were injured and that the gift of the stuffed bear lifted her family's spirits.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital and officials said a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.
The collision is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police.
