A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly forcibly touching a plainclothes NYPD officer on a subway train.
Officials said that the incident occurred on a No. 5 train that left from the 4, 5, 6 platform at 42 Street and Grand Central Station around 5:50 p.m., according to WCBS-TV.
The female police officer and a sergeant assigned to the Transit Manhattan Task Force Anti-Crime Unit were on a train heading southbound when they noticed a 39-year-old male board, officials told the news station.
The officer then noticed the male brush against her left hip and press his groin up against her. The officer then put her arm out to keep the male away.
When the train reached the 14th Street and Union Square stop, the NYPD said the officer noticed that the man had an erection as she exited.
The suspect, identified as Javier Monroy, was arrested without incident after the plainclothes officers identified themselves as members of the NYPD.
Monroy was charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse.
