Colorado Officer Shot, Suspect Killed in Raid

Officers were attempting to execute a narcotics search warrant at a home on East 109th Place near Muriel Drive around 10 a.m. when the shooting occurred inside the residence, according to KMGH-TV.

The officer was shot twice and was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center in stable condition. Northglenn Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Ron Haralson told the news station that the officer was expected to be released from the hospital later that day.

Officers used a battering-ram to open the front door of the home during the no-knock narcotics raid.

Five people are in police custody and three juveniles are now in protective custody following the raid.
